Growing up in Baltimore, I witnessed firsthand the deep racial inequities that shaped my community. As a Black woman raised by a single mother alongside two older sisters, I came to understand the compounded challenges we faced as Black women of a lower socioeconomic status. Trying to escape the assumptions that come along with an upbringing riddled with drug abuse, domestic abuse, and homelessness, I spent much of my life trying to distance myself from those labels by attending "good schools" and code-switching my way through my professional career. Yet, despite my efforts, I couldn’t escape the harsh realities of navigating life as a Black woman in a capitalist system.

After enduring three layoffs, I searched for a space where I could feel understood, connect with Black women who shared similar experiences, and receive tangible support. That space didn’t exist, so I decided to create it myself. With over 10 years of designing and executing high-impact programs, over five years of career coaching across several industries, and obtaining my Certificate of Professional Coaching and Workforce Development Professional Certification, I felt confident in launching this community to support other Black women in their journeys.
The Sis Sanctuary is for us—a place where Black women can be unapologetically themselves, free from the pressures to conform, in a community that understands and supports them.

This is a space where we can navigate the complexities of life, embrace our imperfections, and find growth both personally and professionally. Together, we can support each other in living fulfilling lives, despite the odds stacked against us.
